WHY???
Right now, the Federal Government is reviewing the Renewable Energy Target (RET). The RET is a law that requires power companies buy at least 20% of Australia’s energy from renewable sources, by the year 2020. During the review this year, there is a danger, that due to the influence of big polluters, the RET could be reduced – meaning Australia builds less and less renewable energy. We want to tell the Government that when they’re deciding the future of Australia’s energy they shouldn’t listen to big polluters, they should listen to us, young Australians.
This is our moment to raise our voices. That’s why AYCC is holding Youth Decide: The Energy Election – a referendum for young Australians to vote to influence our energy future.
